Data Protection laws are on the rise, especially the requirement to store data within the national borders of a country. These restrictions have become a real challenge for Global businesses around the world to uphold them while competing in a world where user experience and time to market are critical to their success.

In this example, Northwind Cloud is an international accounting firm. One of their most celebrated services is payroll which they run for thousands of clients and provide the necessary tools such as Time Entry. One of their US based clients “Fabrikam” has subsidiaries in the UK and acquires a new company in Austria. Both countries in this scenario require that the data of their citizens be stored within the geographic borders of their specific countries. While Microsoft Azure offers 54 regions (more than the two others combined), there is no region in Austria as per August 2019.

With a Hybrid Solution of Azure and Azure stack, companies can be efficient and lightning fast just as they would be with a traditional cloud only deployment. Azure Stack and Azure create a truly consistent experience across your hybrid cloud using comprehensive Azure cloud capabilities and reduce complexity and risk. In addition, you will be able to build and deploy applications consistently and can focus on increasing your customers experience and not worry about where it runs.
