Join me – to infinity and beyond!

Probably the most famous line in Toy Story and the theme of the current season I find myself in. Why this? When I started at Microsoft it was a dream come true and the past 6 years have been wilder and better than I could have imagined. Americans tend to say that Disney World is the happiest place on earth, for me this is our campus in Redmond. I now get the unique chance of relocating to Redmond. This is my “to infinity and beyond” journey and I invite you to come with me.

You probably don’t even know it, but you did have a part in this. How? By following my blog, providing your feedback, liking and sharing the information I published and for that I want to thank you very much.

If I look back at the past 6 years, starting in 2012 at Microsoft just around the release of the first-generation Surface and Windows 8. The rise of Azure, our hyperscale cloud platform, which has become the fastest growing part of our business and has empowered countless companies, startups and individuals to achieve more. The most fascinating piece about the hyperscale cloud is that it reshuffles the cards in lives, by giving people access to technology who didn’t’ have access before. One story which moves me is about Melisha Ghimere, a 20-year-old computer science student leveraging AI in Nepal to help farmers monitor the health and wellbeing of their livestock and to prevent outbreaks of diseases. You can read more about her story in my blog “A must read – The Future computed”.

My current role has taken over most of my time and that’s why I’ve fallen short with vlogging and have focused more on written blog posts. With the start of my journey to infinity and beyond, I want to relaunch my vlog by interviewing interesting people I get to meet as part of my new assignment in Microsoft. If you haven’t yet, please make sure to follow me on Instagram @TheDaveKurth where I will start documenting the journey daily. Looking forward to having you with me to infinity and beyond.
