VLOG #57 – Smart Cities for a better together

Raising taxes is something unpopular especially for the people affected by it. Therefor working smarter not harder should be the credo of any government agency. The good news is that technology has made so many advances and is widely accessible which enables the “working smarter” by a magnitude.

The use case I show in this video is fictional but born out of my personal experience and a problem I’d like to solve. And while I do not have the capacity to roam the roads or trails every day, I do believe that technology could help us to better maintain the space we live in. For example, in a pre-corona world, I commuted with my bike to work and if I have to stop every time I see something to report in the app, I would never make it to work on time. Plus, there is the issue that I do not want to install apps for each jurisdiction and therefor believe that this is not something that should be solved by individual towns but at a minimum on the state level.

My friends and I did some serious planning around our idea in Switzerland, but my relocation put that all on-hold. In case this is of interest for you, feel free to reach out, happy to jump on a call and talk about how technology could help address some of these issues and increase the efficiency without increasing the tax burden for anyone.
